Test ASTM: Rigorous tests for guaranteed performance

The ASTM standard tests represent a pillar of reliability for us: we guarantee rigorous controls on materials, adhesion, and resistance. Each sample is analyzed with precision to ensure superior performance, in line with customer requirements and the most stringent industry standards.

COMPARATIVE TESTS between silicone adhesives and adhesives applied with the GEAR System – SIL method.

They indicate a higher adhesion strength on silicone for adhesives applied with the GEAR System – SIL method, compared to standard silicone adhesives applied with the traditional pressure method.

INCREASE IN ADHESION STRENGTH with the GEAR System-SIL method from +47% to +91%, depending on the type of adhesive

Test method

  • test: “T Peel Adhesion ASTM D 1876-01” on silicone adhesive samples aged for 14 days with 7 different types of adhesive
  • sample: silicone rubber 70sh, section mm 12×3
  • types of adhesive tested: silicone – rubber-based – modified acrylic – acrylic foam
  • adhesive height: mm 10
  • time between adhesive application and test: 14 days

Results compared to standard silicone adhesives applied with the traditional method

  • Increase in peel resistance depending on the types of adhesive tested (applied with GEAR System-SIL method):
  • Modified acrylic adhesive, unsupported (pure adhesive), thermal resistance 82/121 °C peel strength increase +47.77%
  • Modified acrylic adhesive, non-woven fabric support, thermal resistance 90/120 °C peel strength increase +91.14%
  • Modified acrylic adhesive, polyester support, thermal resistance 185 °C peel strength increase +50.42%
  • Structural acrylic foam adhesive, thermal resistance 93/150 °C peel strength increase +89.29%
  • Rubber-based adhesive, unsupported, thermal resistance 65/75 °C peel strength increase +49.55%
